There are moments in music that remind you why you started creating in the first place. For me, having my track Blacklight featured on BBC Introducing last night is just one of those moments!
As an artist, you spend countless hours developing ideas, learning, refining sound, second-guessing yourself, and chasing the feeling that a track is truly finished. Most of that work happens behind closed doors, with no guarantee that anyone will ever hear it. That's why receiving support from BBC Introducing means so much!
Since its launch in 2007, BBC Introducing has become one of the UK's most respected platforms for discovering and supporting emerging artists, helping launch the careers of artists. It continues to provide a vital pathway for independent musicians to reach new audiences through local and national BBC radio networks.
Blacklight was created from a desire to blend emotion, energy, and atmosphere into something that feels both personal and powerful. I wanted to show RBYN, for what i am now, and i am becoming.
To have that story picked up and broadcast through BBC Introducing is incredibly rewarding. It's validation not only for the track itself but for the creative thought process behind it. Independent artists often work without major teams, labels, or large budgets, so support from respected platforms can make a genuine difference!
Most importantly, I want to thank everyone who has listened, shared, supported, and believed in what I'm creating. Whether you've shared the track, attended an event, followed from a social post, or simply offered encouragement, you've played a part in this journey!
This feature is another step forward.
There is plenty more music to come, and if Blacklight is any indication of what's ahead, I'm excited for the next chapter!
Thank you to BBC Introducing for the support, and thank you to everyone coming along for the ride.
With love,
RBYN x
